Frozen Yogurt Delight

If you're a fan of frozen yogurt you have to try Red Mango! They have a variety of flavors that switch up from time to time. Coconut is my new favorite flavor. They have many different locations- Massapequa Park, Merrick, Hempstead, Hicksville (coming soon*) and much more! There's so many different topping options that range from super unhealthy if you want to treat yourself, to delicious, fresh, healthy choices if you just hit the gym. Red Mango also offers parfaits, hot chocolate, smoothies, and pro-biotic beverages. It is the perfect snack for summer, so make sure to try it out once it gets nice again. #yogurtqueen

The Good Life

Fellow foodies, I recently stumbled upon a cute little place in Massapequa Park called The Good Life. It is on the corner of Park Boulevard just past the Massapequa Park train station. There are so many different food and drink options to choose from and I promise you, nothing will disappoint. Their menu is printed on a newspaper, making the whole experience feel as if you are sitting in your home. The staff is really friendly and helpful and will tell you if they don't like a particular meal. They are open for business at all hours- their kitchen closes at 2 am every single night. My favorite was the skirt steak served with asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. They even have outside seating so you can eat and enjoy the nice weather at the same time.
With an entirely large beer menu, this restaurant counts as a great night out as well! In fact, once a month, The Good Life has a 'Beer Dinner', "a monthly gathering to showcase and celebrate the marraige of Beer and Food." You pay the fixed amount and get to enjoy food, drinks, and transportation to a brewery. They start at 8pm and go all night.
This place is too good to pass up, so get on it. #foodforthought

I've gone greek

In the mood for amazing Greek food? No need to look further, Souvlaki Stop is the place to go. Located on  Mineola Blvd in Mineola, this place has everything greek from salads, to spinach pie, to pitas and more! They are very fairly priced and give an extremely large portion for the price. The food is delicious and there are so many different options to choose from, it's nearly impossible to make a decision. Check it out! #GreekLife

Seaqua

If you live in Massapequa or Seaford, chances are you've heard of Seaqua Deli. Located on Jerusalem Avenue in Massapequa, they have everything you could want from a deli and are one of the most delicious delis around. They open at 6 AM and stay open until 8 PM! Although it's not one of the cheapest delis, it is definitely worth the price and the wait you'll most likely face while there. One of my favorite sandwiches is the Chicken Cutlet Melt, so go try it out and let me know what you think.

Portofino Ristorante

Want one slice of pizza that could feed an army? Keep looking. BUT Portofino's deep dish slices are extremely filling and delicious. Located in Levittown in the shopping center with Ulta and Mandee's at 3355 Hempstead Tpke, it is great for dining in or taking out. The restaurant boasts authentic Italian cuisine. The pizzeria has our heart though. A deep dish slice from Portofino's is an indescribable experience. The crust is a little crispy on the outside and cooked perfect in the middle. The toppings are gourmet. Our favorites are chicken ala vodka, vegetable, and eggplant parmagiana. It is literally a gourmet meal on top of a deep dish slice of pizza. Amazing. If you are interested in ordering a whole pie, they will customize your toppings with anything you'd like! My family's last order-deep dish pie topped with fried calamari!

Gold Mine

The other night I spotted one of my most frequent fine diners out with her beau at Rare 650 in Syosset. Of course I did my homework to get all the juicy details on the place and I think we might have a winner. Although the restaurant itself is very pricey, it's well worth it...ladies time to call your sugar daddies for this meal. From crab cake to filet mignon to sea scallops over rice, my sources reveal this couple had it all. This prime time steak and sushi house will not disappoint you. You could even enjoy a night out with the girls as there are well over 30 different beverages to choose from on their drink menu. Let's not forget about dessert, my personal favorite- Chocolate Wow (Chocolate Mousse, white chocolate filling and dark chocolate cake covered in chocolate ganache) Either way, this place is a gold mine. #finedining

Panini Paradise

Over the weekend I sent one of my minions out on a hunt for the best panini. I think we succeeded with a little place called La Bottega. Thankfully, there's multiple locations so you can find one while you're wandering around Long Island. Although paninis aren't the only thing on the menu, they are one of the best items on the menu and there's literally over 30 paninis to choose from. One of our favorites that we discovered was the Anthony, grilled chicken, mozzarella, baby arugula, balsamic on krispina. (Take a look at the delicious food in the pictures). Bon Appetit!

Burgers and Fries and Everything Nice

So although I like to normally post about interesting, different places today I want to make sure all of my bloggers are aware of one of the oldest, yet most delicious burger places- All American. There isn't one thing there that I don't enjoy and it's all so cheap that I can buy a variety of things for well under $10! Located on Merrick Road in Massapequa, it even has a drive thru for those of us too lazy to find a parking spot and get ourselves out of the car. It is well known and a lot of people love it, so it does get pretty crazy at time. But I'm telling you, it's worth it. You can't say you're a Long Islander without  ever trying All American so if you haven't already, get on it boys and girls. #lunchgrind

Taco Tuesdays

On a day so nice as today, why not get the coastal environment at Zim Zari in Massapequa? It's Taco Tuesday, so you get to enjoy your taco for only $2. My recommendation- filet mignon taco. But for those of you who have already enjoyed your feasts for the day try it out any other day as most week days offer a deal too good to pass up. If you're feeling thirsty, try it out Monday for $3 margaritas or Thursday for $4 beers and $4 sangria. But if you're just looking for a good meal, Wednesdays will get you BOGO on fajitas, Thursday will get you $4 apps, and Sunday if you feel like being nice to the little ones in your life...kids eat free.

"WELCOME TO MOE'S!"

In the mood for Mexican food? Moe's Southwest Grill is now open in Massapequa, in the shopping center across from the Westfield (Sunrise) mall. The grand opening was Thursday March 8th. The menu includes all your favorites and, as usual, you can customize your order each time because your burritto, quesadilla, taco or salad is made right in front of you. Special to this new location is a unique soda machine featuring over 10 flavors, and giving the option to mix your favorite soda together as you please. Be on the look out for coupons, and be aware of Moe's weekly deals. Every meal comes with free chips & salsa! Feed the MOEment!

Ladies Night!

Listen up ladies....we all know the work/school week drags on and we all look forward to the end of the week. To make things a bit more bearable, I suggest starting your weekend early (suck it up and deal with the consequences later). Today is Hump Day-- congrats you've made it halfway through the week-- and you're almost there, which of course calls for a celebration! Today I bear the gifts of alcohol, lots and lots of it. Wednesday nights at Miller's Ale House in Levittown is ladies night, where us ladies drinks cost just 10¢. Who needs a guy to buy them a drink when you can get 10 for $1? Now you don't have to worry about working it to get what you want, it just doesn't get much better than that. Enjoy ;)

Savor the Sushi

Fellow Foodies, so sorry my posting has been so scarce this week. No worries, I come bearing gifts. The gift of sushi that is-- at Sushi Time 560 where you can eat all you want for the simple price of $20! That's right, you get the best buffet around (Bethpage, NY) in form of some of the best, and not terribly fattening, food for a simple price. However, I've heard from sources that the owners have been known to cut you off after what they think is "enough". So what's it gonna be? Try it out boys and girls, I expect reports back....

PASTA-BILITIES

For those fellow foodies who can't eat meat today, I have a special for you! The Rosewood Inn on route 110 in Melville is running a pasta special for $9.95. The restaurant serves Italian and American food, and the menu is reasonably priced. The pasta special comes with a salad and dessert! You get to choose from any type of pasta (penne, rigatoni, farfalle, etc.) and any sauce (marinara, alfredo, vodka, etc.) This deal is bananas!! You can barely get a meal at a deli for $9.95! If you go, tell your server you heard about "Pasta-bilities" from us!

Tropical Tuesday

Hello Fellow Foodies!

So I've been craving a smoothie (what haven't I been craving?) and my sources have been telling me there's only one place to go- Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Levittown. Word around town is that it's the only place to go for a delicious snack, with a variety of supplements and all for a great price. Feeling skeptical? No worries, I've done my research- you're not the only one feeling the effects of the recession these days. Sign up for their text club, email club, iPhone app, show your gym membership card, or just go on your designated student day- each one gets you a discount. The best part is they open at 7am so you can get your smoothie (fruit, chocolate, or coffee) before 8am class! Check out 'Been there, done that' for more ;) #LiquidHeaven
